writing is hard, writing takes time, writing feeds the soul.
I’ve been writing all my life, mostly. Poems, short-stories, blog posts, academic stuff, and, more recently, an open-access book on the culture of coding. There is something in writing that appeals to me, that helps me make sense of things.
I want this substack to be a place where reflections materialise. A place that won’t constrain my writing into a specific medium. A place where I can get feedback on the things I will to share.
You’re welcome to take part. Read, criticise it, suggest things, share these stories with other people. You can even share them with bots, I don’t mind. If you do read it, make sure you say something to me. It doesn’t have to be much, I’ll even be happy with an emoji.
Most of the content, here, will be at some sort of intersection between culture and coding, between technical aspects of programming and the cultural underpinnings of contemporary digital worlds. Occasionally, however, the content might drift a bit. Drift towards shamans and flash drives; drift towards climate dashboards and technology; drift towards science fiction.
You’re welcome to join me on this journey.
Let’s see how it goes.
